The Bridge publishes the best fiction, nonfiction, poetry, visual art and now DRAMA by current undergraduate and graduate students at Bridgewater State University, as well as work by alumni.
The staff of Volume 24 will review submissions from September 25th through December 11th. We'll notify you early in the spring semester if you're work is accepted or declined. We accept simultaneous submissions, as long as you notify us if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere: thebridgejournal@bridgew.edu.
You may submit in more than one genre.
Each submission is read by our editorial staff and thoroughly discussed before finalists are chosen for publication in the journal. Please do not include your name on the document or in the file name.
If your work is selected for publication, we will feature your work in print, as well as on our website. We claim first publication rights only, after which all rights revert to the writer. We also reserve the right to edit for grammar and clarity in larger written works.
All work published in The Bridge is eligible for our annual Bridge Awards, which honors exceptional work with a monetary prize.

- Upload 1 to 5 pieces as separate digital files of high-resolution photos of your work.
- Artworks include but are not limited to: book art, ceramics, graphic design, jewelry, photography, printmaking, sculpture, illustration, and any other 2D/3D projects.
- The Bridge accepts these images in these electronic file formats: eps, jpg, pdf, png, and tif. They must be at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) or ppi (pixels per inch) in their final printed form. If in doubt, try for 300 resolution for an 8×10 inch image.
